FEATURED SPECIES
These articles are provided as an attempt to help both aviculturists and other nature lovers gain familiarity with those species we here at Northwest Wildfowl Farm have studied and worked with either in the wild or in an aviary environment. Since the mid-1990's we have attempted to add one or two species each year as time allows. Where reference material from publications and photos from friends and acquaintances have been used we hope we have given proper credit.
Some of our earlier articles mostly deal with the subject species in a captive setting. Since about 1999 as the interests of our site users have become more broad, we have expanded new articles to deal first with the species in it's natural environment and then to share our experiences with it in an aviary setting. It is our sincere desire to promote an increased appreciation of each species to as wide an audience as possible. The following are listed in the order they were written.
